Get ‘Back to Nature’ at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

With Fall approaching, what could be more fun than a day in the park? Whether you like hiking, kayaking, face painting, bird watching, beach ecology or simply resting in the grass or sand, October 19 is the day to visit Topsail Hill Preserve State Park for the 13th Annual Back to Nature Festival hosted by the South Walton Community Council.

Activities are scheduled all day starting with a sunrise meditation, bird walk and beach ecology walk along the pristine Topsail Hill Preserve beach.

Family friendly activities scheduled for the afternoon from 1 to 6 p.m. include hiking, kayaking, interpretive talks, face painting, information booths and an opportunity to view the art work donated for the South Walton Community Council 2014 Silent Auction. Barefoot Bar-B-Que will be on site selling food and the community council will provide a refreshment tent.

The evening schedule from 6 to 10 p.m. will orient more toward adult activities with musical entertainment provided by the Owsley Brothers and the Courtyard Saints, a presentation by Elam Stoltzfus, beverages by Grayton Beer and a raffle drawing.
