LAST CALL: Digital Graffiti Artist Entries Due on April 22nd!
Alys Beach invites artists from around the globe to submit original digital artwork for the Sixth Annual Digital Graffiti Festival at Alys Beach, a one of a kind juried venue for projected art. Artists will compete for $10,000 in prize money, awarded in five categories. All work selected for the 2013 festival will be eligible for the awards, to be held on June 7—8, 2013.
“Digital Graffiti has become a mainstay of the experimental film scene in the Southeast,” said artist David Montgomery, one of 2012′s Digital Graffiti winners. “My award went toward travel to the Taranaki region of New Zealand to attend SCANZ 2013: 3rd Nature, an event that focuses on hybrid practices at the intersection of art, science, culture, technology and indigenous knowledge, as an artist in residence.”
30A’s Favorite Cowboy — Bryan Kennedy — is here from Nashville and he’s playing a special show on Wednesday night from 7-11pm at Marie’s Bistro in Blue Mountain Beach!
Larry Davis of Davis Properties chats with 30A artist Justin Gaffrey at his Blue Mountain studio and then over beer and oysters at Stinky’s Fish Camp. Cool video by Fletcher Isacks of IsacksImagery.com!
NOTE: You can fast-forward the video to the 2-minute mark to see Ingo's intro.
Several of our 30A friends scored some serious international exposure last night during the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars.
Congrats to all of our friends at YOLO Board and local artist Justin Lyons, who designed the stand up paddleboard that contestant Ingo Rademacher cruises up to the beach on (he races for Team YOLO). Congrats as well to our friend Madra McDonald at M Public Relations, who represents both YOLO Board and Justin Lyons as clients. (Winning.)
And finally, of course, best of luck this season to Ingo Rademacher — a 30A fan and frequenter!
