UPDATE: Closures, Construction Underway on Scenic Highway 30-A

Construction projects are underway in several places along Scenic Highway 30-A, including improving the road between Gulf Place and Blue Mountain Beach, adding parking in Grayton Beach and updating drainage along County Highway 393.

County Highway 393 south of U.S. Highway 98 will be closed to all traffic beginning 7 a.m. on Monday February 20, through 5 p.m. on Monday February 27.

Utilities need to be relocated in advance of work to improve drainage along the road. The closure will take place on a 1,000-foot stretch between Edgewood Terrace and Shannon Lane. Through-traffic will not be allowed; motorists should plan to use alternate routes.

Construction is underway on a 2.2-mile stretch of Scenic Highway 30-A from County Road 393 to County Road 83 (Gulf Place to Blue Mountain Beach). The project includes asphalt milling, resurfacing and re-striping.

The road will remain open during construction, but the public may encounter slight delays or lane restrictions. The project should be complete sometime in February, according to county officials.

A project designed to improve parking in Grayton Beach is underway near the intersection of Scenic Highway 30-A and County Road 283.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
