The Northwest Florida Ballet (NFB) invites dance lovers to enjoy a free performance of “Starlight Ballet” at Rosemary Beach.This popular annual performance of dance under the stars is sponsored by the Rosemary Beach Property Owner’s Association and will feature NFB company dancers and international guest artists performing a mixed repertoire of classic and modern works.

The program will consist of excerpts from Paquita with music by Leon Minkus, original choreography by Marius Petipa and restaged by Dorothy Lister. Audiences will also be treated to classical variations from Le Corsaire and Diana and Actaeon and Jazz Swing, a piece that brings the joy of classical dancing to the rhythm of Jazz; original choreography by Fernando Bujones, music by Louis Prima and Eddy Higgins.
NFB Summer Workshop students will be featured in a piece choreographed by visiting guest artist J Ryan Carroll, West Side Story Suite, music by Leonard Bernstein. These are students from the local area and abroad who are studying with NFB guest artists for the month of June.
Also on the program is the neoclassical ballet “Afterglow”, choreographed by Artistic Director Todd Eric Allen set to the beautiful music “Fantasia on a Theme” by Thomas Tallis composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams. This ballet was originally choreographed for Northwest Florida Ballet in 2001 and is an exploration of shapes and texture – a beautiful ballet sure to please the eye and ear.
