Writing a Novel? Refining Your Artistic Skills? Get Creative at The Seaside Institute This Year

The Seaside Institute is hosting a fantastic series of creative workshops this year. We’re very fortunate to have these resources in our community:

JohnDufresneHeadShot2.1.1.1Creative Writing Workshop with John Dufresne: This short fiction workshop will meet from 9 a.m. to noon to discuss the stories that you’ve written. Dufresne will address concerns about writing and storytelling and lecture on narrative techniques and the fiction writing process. Writing exercises will complement the workshop. Dufresne will also meet individually in conference with each student. In the late afternoon, students will gather for social time and informal discussions of the writing business. Bring your manuscript! There are just a few spots remaining.

2012_DiGenti_Vic_Headshot.1Write Your Novel and Publish It! Have you always wanted to write a novel but don’t know where to start? Of course, there’s no magic wand to turn you into a bestselling author, but by learning the basic techniques for crafting a novel the beginning writer can quickly flatten the learning curve. This workshop led by Victor DiGenti provides writers with the tools needed to craft their own novel—a novel that will grab a reader’s attention and keep them turning pages. And it will show them how to take the next step and join the hundreds of thousands of writers who became independently published authors.

When: April 24 – 26, 2014

2 1Seaside Writer’s Conference: This two-week conference is sponsored by Seacoast Collegiate High School, Seaside Neighborhood School and and the Seaside Institute. During these two weeks in May, a mix of intensive writing workshops, one-day seminars, school outreach programs and social events will be offered. All programming will be led by authors Dr. Seth Taylor Brady and Dr. Matt Bondurant.
