One of the Gulf Coast's most luxurious resorts, WaterColor is a wonderland of activities for families, including expansive nature preserves, bike trails, lakes, shops, fitness facilities, a spa, award-winning restaurants and nearby award-winning golf courses. (And, of course, the Gulf of Mexico's sugar-white beaches.) Hailed as Northwest Florida's Only Four-Diamond AAA Hotel, the resort's "WaterColor Inn" was also recently honored with a "World's Best" award from Travel+Leisure magazine. A short stroll or bike ride to the west, and you'll cross 30A's stunning Western Lake into Grayton Beach State Park. Take a few steps to the east, and you'll enter Seaside - sometimes jokingly and affectionately referred to by residents as WaterColor's "Historic District."

Fish Out of Water
Fish Out of Water's contemporary menu is accompanied with a powerful cosmopolitan view of the Gulf's emerald tides. Chef Phil Krajeck - whose name is whispered with reverent admiration by foodies and fellow chefs alike - was formally trained in Switzerland, and later under Joël Antunes at Atlanta's five-star JOËL. Krajeck himself is on the ballot in 2009 for a James Beard Award, and it's easy to see why when you sample the restaurant's seafood platter, swimming with seasonally fresh and salty Apalachicola oysters, stone crab claws, local shrimp, and ceviche from the daily catches.
Cerulean Park
At the heart of WaterColor is Cerulean Park. Its gorgeous flower-filled lawns provide grassy expanses and shell-surfaced footpaths for relaxing strolls between the resort's Beach Club and lakefront activities at Marina Park. Hidden trailheads invite you to explore the surrounding woodlands and coastal dune lakes.
The Beach Club
If you're lucky enough to be a WaterColor homeowner or resort guest, then don't miss the opportunity to relax in a deck chair at the Gulf-front Beach Club complex. With a full-service restaurant and bar, a giant swimming pool and uncompromising views of the Gulf, sand dunes and majestic sunsets, membership does indeed have its privileges.
