YOLO Bike Company Rolls Out New 2015 Designs

_W4A7866

After the successful launch of a custom YOLO beach cruiser in 2014, YOLO Bike Company announced it will be expanding its bicycle offerings in 2015 with cutting-edge, new designs including a kid’s bike, a fat-tire bike and a series of 3-speed cruisers.

The designs are a collaboration between YOLO Board and YOLO Bike Company founder Jeff Archer, bicycle designer Doug Morar and graphic artist Jake Meyer. Much like YOLO Board standup paddleboards, these bikes provide durability and function with a sleek and stylish aesthetic.

Doug Morar, formally of Specialized and Maverick American (CO), consulted in the design of the equipment resulting in innovations such as sealed cartridge bottom brackets, 3-piece alloy cranks, thread-less headsets, double-wall alloy rims with stainless steel spokes, KMC “Rust-Buster” chains and alloy handlebars. The bicycles feature bomb-proof components to withstand the harsh outdoor environment and prevent rust and corrosion. Longtime YOLO Board graphic artist Jake Meyer of the NYC-based firm I Will Design For Food provided striking color combinations and eye-catching graphics that set the bikes apart from the crowd.

“Creating YOLO Bike Company has been the realization of a dream to expand YOLO Board into a true lifestyle company that outfits recreational pursuits from land to sea,” Archer said. “Since the beginning, we’ve always strived to create a lifestyle that reaches beyond just a brand. Bicycles were a natural first step into providing quality, new products that both exemplify the ‘You Only Live Once’ spirit and provide our customers a way to get outside and explore the world around them. The 2015 designs are going to appeal to a wide range of customers and move YOLO Bike Company to a new tier of bicycle manufacturing.”

The first new designs to launch are the YOLO 3-speed SELECTA and ULTRA cruiser. Both models will be available in “Street” and “Dirt” editions, as well as men’s and women’s models. In the coming months, YOLO Bike Company will add a 24” kid’s model for boys and girls, and a unisex fat-tire bicycle that will also include a Shimano freewheel and disc brakes.

Next up will be a fitness/urban bike, designed for the customer with a vigorous exercise regimen and ideal for someone wanting to tackle their first sprint trathlon or take their fitness to the next level. It will feature 700c road wheels, Shimano Alfine 8-speed gearing and hydraulic disc brakes.

We’re adding several models to the line-up and tripling production so we’re on the verge of tremendous growth,” said Morar.

YOLO Bikes are currently available for purchase online and at select outlets nationwide. For more info, visit YOLO Board or call 850-267-0602.
