Gallion’s Brings Coastal-inspired Fine Dining to 30A

There’s a new name on the corner of Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach, but it’s not unfamiliar. Gallion’s, sister restaurant to award-winning Shunk Gulley a little further west on Scenic Highway 30A, is an homage to Thomas Gallion’s family who were some of the first people to move to Seagrove Beach back in the 50s.

“Thomas Gallion, who built the Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House in Rosemary Beach, pays a lot of attention to details, and those details come out in the dining experience. From the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. From the ambiance to the execution of the service, the product knowledge, and just the warmth, and friendliness of the environment—we work tirelessly to make sure there’s no detail left out. We’re here to take care and exceed expectations,” said George Barnes, Director of Business Development.

Chef Frank Syzmanski draws from global travels to create menus that rotate seasonally at Gallion’s.

Coastal-inspired small plates like the plump, hard-seared U-8 scallops (that’s bigger than most in layman terms) nestled between citrus supremes, and topped with a refreshing basil-mint bearnaise drive the current culinary experience. And sophisticated options like the 30-day Dry Aged Ribeye served with summer truffle potatoes, and panko-crusted asparagus anchor the summer menu. And don’t forget about dessert. A state-of-the-art ice cream machine churns seasonal fruits, fresh from the garden into satisfying sweet treats.

The dynamic wine and spirits portfolio ranges from bottles in the Buffalo Trace vintage collection to Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon to Chateau Margaux. “You find things for special occasions that you won’t find anywhere else. If you wanted to treat your dad for Father’s Day to some Pappy Van Winkle 12-year-old, you can do that. If you want to get a bottle of Opus One, you can do that. We have sommeliers on-site to not only help you with those decisions but serve the wine and spirits appropriately as well,” says Barnes.

The cocktail menu is not shy on special moments either. The libations are a play on seasonal ingredients, as well as classics like the sophisticated Old Fashioned. “The culinary team, and the service staff are really working hard to execute at a high level every service. And we get better every day, collectively working together,” says Barnes.

And the name might not be the only thing that seems familiar. Erika Powell of Urban Grace designed the classic interior. She also designed Shunk Gulley, as well as that Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House. Each choice from the creamy leather bar stools, to the brass hardware, to the patterned wallpaper feels effortlessly chic and memorable. The stunner of the interior is the grand quartz bar, running along the width of the dining room. Its 16 seats are prime spots for not only a sumptuous dinner, but lively conversation with the knowledgeable bar staff.

Gallion’s brings an upscale, adults-only option to Rosemary Beach. The cozy eatery is an 18+ age minimum establishment, and reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome. Lunch is slated to start June 15, 2022.

And if you find your perfect bottle while dining under the canopied oaks surrounding Gallion’s, you can pop next door to their package store, Cork and Barrel, to grab one to take home for that final nightcap.
