Description

This 2 hour class is designed to teach the basics of using the batik art form to create a 10×10 floral painting on silk.

This is intended as a beginner class for adults, no experience required. You will learn how to stretch your silk, draw using hot wax and a traditional tjanting tool, and paint with silk dyes. I’ll show you examples of how you can use your finished piece as mounted wall art or as fiber art. I will also explain how the dyes are steam set and set with dye fixative although that process is done at home by me.

You will receive your finished piece within 3-4 days.
