On Saturday July 16 James Beard Award-winning chef Hugh Acheson will helm the kitchen at Ovide at Hotel Effie, serving brunch from 11 am – 2 pm. This special meal will allow guests to interact with the Food Network star, who is known for creating Ovide’s menu of forward flavors and local seafood of the Gulf Coast.
In 2010, Acheson competed on Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters: Season 3” and he returned to the hit series as a judge on “Top Chef” as well as “Top Chef: Duels.” He also hosted Bravo’s online complement to “Top Chef Masters” Season 5, “Battle of the Sous Chefs.”
Brunch will also be served with a bloody mary bar by mixologist Kellie Thorn. Thorn has received considerable critical recognition for her craft cocktails and specialty libations.
What’s better than starting your weekends gazing out at the Emerald Coast, sipping on a spicy, salty and savory good old bloody mary? Enjoy the jumbo lump crab toast ($22) or a french omelet ($21) with boursin cheese, chives, and little gem lettuce salad.
