The Walton County Commissioners are pleased to announce the unveiling ceremony for newly constructed graffiti walls at Helen McCall Park, located off CR-393 and Moll Drive. The public is invited to come and celebrate this significant addition to the park at the unveiling ceremony to be held Tuesday, November 7, at 10 a.m.

In September, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, led by Lieutenant Mark Wendel, presented the proposal for the construction of these graffiti walls to the Walton County Commissioners. Recognizing the need for proactive measures to reduce graffiti in the skatepark, the board wholeheartedly approved the project. This decision was met with enthusiasm from the community and marked the beginning of a collaborative effort between the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the Walton Skate Association, the Cultural Arts Alliance, and the Walton County Parks and Recreation Department, who expressed their gratitude to these organizations for their invaluable support and funding.

Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring the upkeep and integrity of the new graffiti walls. They will diligently monitor the walls to prevent any vulgar or obscene graffiti, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for all skaters and visitors. Moreover, these walls will also serve as a platform for local businesses to advertise community events and initiatives.

The Walton County Commission extends an open invitation to the entire community to join them at Helen McCall Park to commemorate the completion of this project. This event signifies their commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable space for skaters while promoting artistic expression within the community.
