FEES: History tour is free with paid park entry of $4 per vehicle.
DESCRIPTION: Meander through history and time with a park ranger on a history tour of Camp Helen State Park. The park’s historic district is recognized on the National Historic Register, and the property is sited along the bluffs of Lake Powell, which was inhabited for thousands of years by indigenous populations. Rangers will touch upon the Hicks family who initially developed the property, as well as Avondale Textile Mills, which ran a summer vacation destination for their employees and families for 40 years.
