Rum Runners Dueling Piano Bar
130 Fisherman's Cove
Baytowne Wharf, FL 32550
Jason was born and raised in the Rock-N-Roll capital of the world, Cleveland, Ohio. At the tender age of five he began working as a musician with his father in local venues and events. His first instrument being drums, and a few years later, adding the bass. It wasn’t until the age of fifteen that Jason started playing piano.
As a completely self taught musician, Jason began his career as a dueling piano player and toured the country, playing with some of the greatest in the industry. Becoming a dueling piano player in his youth, he was also a part of locally acclaimed bands that brought him ultimately to the Warp Tour. His long-spanning career as a musician has taken him all over the country playing with grammy winners, and some noted musicians (and others, not so notable).
After a seven year stay in Missouri, he was welcomed into the Rum Runners family. Together with his longtime stage partner, Brad Thoreson, they have brought a fresh sound to the most beautiful beaches in the world. Jason’s musical talents span over multiple genres of music and cover many decades. Whether you are eight or eighty, Jason is sure to entertain. Playing classics from the 50’s to today, from rock to country, and yes, even rap and R & B, Jason will ensure a memorable night out for everyone.
Jason resides in Panama City Beach with his wife and two daughters, and looks forward to becoming a staple in his local community. (p.s. They are also proud parents of eight cats)
Brad was born and raised in Valley City, North Dakota. Coming from a family with music in his blood, music has always been a vital part of his life. He began playing by ear at the age of four and benefited from being placed in music lessons for all of his education. He performed locally in churches and for various events in his hometown. In 1997, he moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend university. Later, he worked as a choral director and organist for several churches in the Springfield area.
In 2005, Brad was introduced to dueling pianos. He was dragged kicking and screaming into a local dueling piano bar and, much to his chagrin, loved it. Brad was trained by several iconic dueling piano entertainers, including grammy winners, and moved through the ranks from being a rookie to an entertainment director. After several years with a midwest-based dueling piano bar, Brad was invited to Panama City Beach for a ‘working vacation’ by his friend and colleague, Jason Brady … that vacation turned into a move to Panama City Beach, Florida, to become part of the Rum Runners family.
You can find Brad on any given night entertaining the crowds at Rum Runners in their locations in Pier Park (Panama City Beach, Florida) or Baytowne Wharf (in the Village of Sandestin). His musical stylings come from a broad appreciation of music, including classical, jazz, standards, blues, classic rock, alternative rock and country. Brad’s inspirations throughout the years have included Elton John, Billy Joel, the Eagles, the Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Petty and too many more to mention.
Brad resides in Panama City Beach with his cats, Winston, Sophie and Etcy.
