Description:

The Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC) and Walton County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) gladly invites the public and media to a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Dune Allen Regional Beach Access (RBA), the first regional beach access to be built in Walton County in more than a decade. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. on Dec. 10 at 5999 W County Highway 30A.

The Dune Allen RBA will include new parking, restroom facilities and a lifeguard station on the beach. The 1.51-acre property has 220 feet of beachfront and was purchased for $7.4 million in 2016. Two more regional beach accesses are expected to open in 2020 in Miramar Beach and Seagrove Beach. This will bring the total number of regional beach access points from eight to 11 in South Walton.

Since August 2016, the TDC has purchased seven parcels for a total of 748 feet of beachfront to be used as regional access points.

“Opening this new beach access with all of the quality amenities is important for Walton County visitors and residents,” said BCC Chairman Bill Chapman. “The BCC is committed to expanding and securing additional beach accesses in the future.”

The entire community is welcomed to join in on this special event.
