March 6
Drummer / Musician Raymond Cyr
Ray, the co-founder of Studio 237 Music School in Santa Rosa Beach, offers a personal perspective on the history of drumming music spanning over 50 years. His presentation explores the evolution of drummers into skilled performers and the educational journey they’ve undertaken. The session will cover diverse drumming techniques and encourage audience participation. Ray’s extensive drumming experience dates back to 1961 when he joined a Drum and Bugle Marching Corp in Maine, and since 1964, he’s been playing with various music groups on drum sets. Throughout his career, spanning Maine, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Colorado, California, and Florida, Ray has professionally performed in 18 different bands, contributing to three out of eight recording albums and participating in over 1,000 concerts across 25 states and Canada.
