Sir Conan Arthur Doyle’s most celebrated Sherlock Holmes story — The Hound of the Baskervilles — receives a gloriously funny makeover on Seaside Repertory Theatre’s main stage this summer.
Performances at 7:30pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through August 3.
Directed by Scott Stackhouse, “The Hound of the Baskervilles” is a murder mystery saturated with dramatic intrigue, fateful possibilities and a ghostly legend that is guaranteed to keep audiences riveted with suspense — using only three actors to play all of the parts!
Brook Stetler plays Sherlock Holmes
When Sir Charles Baskerville (played by Kyle Walter) is found dead on his estate — with a look of terror still etched on his face and the paw prints of a gigantic hound beside his body — the great detective Sherlock Holmes (Brook Stetler) is summoned from Baker Street, with Dr. Watson (Alan Daugherty) in tow of course. The duo must unravel the mysteries surrounding his death, and investigate the ancient curse of the Hound of the Baskervilles.
The speed of the costume and set changes rivals only the delivery of the witty dialogue and physical dexterity of the actors in a show reminiscent of the classic comedy duel acts such as Laurel and Hardy or Abbot and Costello.
