The 5th annual Food For Thought Outreach Charity Golf Tournament presented by 30A Cottages & Concierge is set for April 7, 2016. The tournament will be hosted by Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club, which has been voted ’30A Hot Spot for Golf’ for the third year in a row.
Check-in starts at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by a 12:45 p.m. shotgun start. The afternoon of golf will be followed by an awards reception and happy hour at the Vue on 30A presented by Sunburst Beach Vacations.
With seven sets of tees, every golfer has a fair chance at conquering the course, the only one in the area featuring two holes with Gulf views.
Last year’s event raised over $8,000 for local children in need.
Food For Thought feeds 1,200 children each week by providing backpacks of healthy, kid-friendly food items to bridge the gap of missed meals over the weekend for students who receive free or reduced lunch during the week.
Service is available in 16 schools across Walton and Okaloosa Counties.
“Events like the golf tournament help us ensure that we can continue providing the children we serve with healthy, easy-to-prepare meals each Friday throughout the school year and during school vacations,” said Tiffanie Nelson, founder and executive director of Food For Thought Outreach.
“This is a great way to raise money and awareness in our community. We are so grateful to have Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Resort partner with us again this year to host the tournament.”
