Bud & Alley’s to Host 10th Annual Hurricane Party

cvhnSouth Walton’s longest-established and award-winning restaurant — Bud & Alley’s in Seaside — will host the 10th Annual Hurricane Party on September 26th from 6 – 10 pm, with all proceeds benefiting Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN).

Entertainment will be provided by Motown favorites Bobby Moore & The Rhythm Aces. Along with the amazing views, food, beverages, dancing and fun that Bud & Alley’s is famous for, the event will also feature a live and silent auction. Select auction items will be posted online for a pre-auction two weeks prior to the party.

Anyone will be able to bid on the items, whether they plan to attend the party or not. Online bidding details will be posted on Children’s Volunteer Health Network’s website. Mobile bidding will be an exciting new addition to the auction this year, which will allow party goers to bid on their phones or mobile devices.

“The Hurricane Party goes back to the very beginning of CVHN,” said CVHN Executive Director Zach Billingsley.

When the Founding Members of CVHN were planning the very first fundraiser for the organization back in 2004, hurricane evacuations threatened the success of the event.

The event organizers personally called the invitation list asking people to come back into town for the “Hurricane Party.” The community showed up in a big way, raising more than $40,000 … and the name stuck.

Now in its 10th year, the Hurricane Party benefiting CVHN has become one of the most well-known parties of the year.

“We are so pleased to be hosting the Hurricane Party benefiting CVHN again this year at Bud & Alley’s,” said Dave and Carol Rauschkolb, owners of Bud & Alley’s. “We are drawn to this cause because the heart of this organization is about enriching children’s lives. Providing free, essential health and dental services to uninsured and underinsured children lessens suffering and builds stronger, more productive and happy children in our area. Together we can make a tremendous and meaningful difference for these children.”

The doors will open at 6 p.m. with heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets are limited and will be $75 in advance and $100 day of the party.

If your business is interested in getting involved, there are various sponsorship levels available and opportunities to donate auction items. All proceeds from the auction go to CVHN, which spends 95 cents of every dollar on its programs that directly benefit kids in Walton and Okaloosa County.
