Since 2002, the Seaside Institute has organized architectural tours throughout the world for its members and this year, the destination is Croatia.

The tour is scheduled September 12-19, 2015, and will include stops in six port towns along the Dalmatian Coast: Split, Hvar, Vis, Korčula, Mljet and Dubrovnik. Guided by architectural historian, writer and teacher John Tschirch, the group will journey aboard the deluxe boat, Prestige, and travel the southern Dalmatian Coast in the Adriatic Sea.

The Seaside Institute tours began with a series of trips to the Italian village, Pienza, generally thought to be the first Città Ideale of the Renaissance. Pienza, as well as of other small towns in Europe and the United States, were used as inspiration for Robert and Daryl Davis when they designed Seaside in the early 80s. The Institute has also traveled to Florence, Italy; Paris, France; Barcelona, Spain; Havana, Cuba; and Antigua, Guatemala.

These members-only tours sell out very quickly. The total cost of the trip is $2792 (airfare not included). Click here to buy. For a more info, visit the Seaside Institute.
