Description

Balder Saunders began playing mandolin at age seven and became a professional multi-instrumentalist when he was 14. Saunders enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and graduated first in his class at the John Philip Sousa School of Music. Saunders moved to Santa Rosa Beach in 2000 and played in numerous bands before co-founding Dread Clampitt with Kyle Ogle in 2002. Saunders demonstrates outstanding skill as he plays mandolin, is a lead and harmony singer, and contributes songwriting to the group. His skill as a writer and arranger adds the perfect amount of intellect, wit, humor, and excitement to each piece. This event is made possible by the Arts & Entertainment fee collected by the Merchants of Seaside.
