Amavida Coffee in Rosemary Beach will host Folk Artist Alan Moore and his most ambitious collection of work to date in Music…Non-Stop — guitar folk art inspired by the artist’s favorite albums and constructed from his new medium: vintage soda and beer cans.

There will be an opening reception on January 4th at 6:00 p.m., featuring a dynamic, music-infused exhibit that pairs sight with sound and highlights some of Alan’s favorite local musicians, including Chris and Gileah Taylor, Wood Rat, and Libby O’Neill.

30A has been an integral part of Alan Moore’s life and work. He has lived in the Florida Panhandle for 25 years and grew up surfing along Highway 30A. He took Lori (now his wife) on their first date to watch a meteor shower at a West 30A beach over 20 years ago. Today, Alan and his daughters sell their work on 30A at The Blue Giraffe (WaterColor), Summer Kitchen Café (Rosemary Beach), and he won an Award of Merritt at last year’s Artsquest Fine Arts Festival in Seaside.

For two decades, Alan has transformed recycled and salvaged material into innovative folk art. His eye for using up-cycled materials in his work meets his love of music in this new exhibit composed with over 1,200 vintage steel soda and beer cans, as well as over 3,500 bottle caps. There are 31 pieces total in this collection including eight pieces inspired by the music from Alan’s elementary school years to the present—from The Beatles to Björk, from Simon and Garfunkel to Sigur Ros. With each of these eight pieces of artwork, Alan is giving away an LP from his favorite artist containing the song that inspired the piece.

Alan, Lori, and their five children currently live in Crestview, Florida.
