Seaside Institute Seeks Events & Marketing Coordinator / New Urbanism Ambassador

Ever dream of living at the beach and working in the world-famous “New Urbanist” community known as Seaside, Florida? Well, here’s your chance, especially if you’re a young professional eager to leave your mark on the world!

Seaside is a small-town tourist destination that famously inspired an urban planning movement now known as New Urbanism.

In fact, Time Magazine once said the mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly community of Seaside “could be the most astounding design achievement of its era.”

The Seaside Institute is a non-profit that promotes the building of sustainable places through education and design. Starting in the 1980s, the Seaside Institute brought together early New Urban practitioners for the first time to discuss best practices in design, construction, retailing, market analysis and governance, and to then teach those learned techniques to others. With the development of other New Urban communities along Scenic Highway 30A over the years, the Institute has also begun exploring innovative new means of transportation connecting walkable communities, as well as other common interests with neighboring 30A communities.

The Seaside Institute now seeks to hire an ambitious, energetic, and collaborative individual to serve as the organization’s new Events & Marketing Coordinator, as well as a New Urbanism Brand Ambassador. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Seaside Institute, and the person will work in the coastal community of Seaside.

This full-time, entry-level position will help with the planning and execution of development, marketing, programming, communications, special events, fundraising, and other organizational needs. Qualified applicants should have a minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a minimum of a high school diploma/GED and three years related administrative experience and/or training.

Learn more about this non-profit organization on The Seaside Institute’s website, and email Thomas Cordi, Executive Director ASAP if you’d like to apply for this rare career opportunity.
