Seascape Splendor: A Hidden Paradise on Florida’s Northwest Coast

By: Michelle Garrett | Posted Feb 22, 2024

In the far west corner of Walton County is the tranquil resort of Seascape. Tucked away from the busyness of the small beach towns to the East are the towering Seascape penthouse condos that stand tall and proud just minutes from 30A.

Spanning over 300 acres, Seascape Resort is a verdant oasis, boasting tranquil lakes and lush landscapes. This all-encompassing resort elevates your vacation experience with an array of leisure, relaxation, and recreational activities suitable for every age.

Nestled along Highway 98 in Northwest Florida, the gated community of Seascape opens up to a world of exclusive streets and scenic pathways, ideal for serene walks, energizing jogs, and delightful bike rides.

Wandering through the extensive grounds, visitors are treated to a picturesque array of over a dozen man-made lakes, distinct in their beauty and not to be mistaken for the unique dune lakes found in other parts of the Florida panhandle.

Soak in the Sun

Seascape’s brag-worthy penthouse views are only bested by its 2,000 feet of shimmering white sand shoreline. There’s plenty of space to lounge along the private beaches of Seascape. The resort offers daily beach service and has a private beach parking lot reserved exclusively for guests.

For active beachgoers, there are endless opportunities for fun in the sun. Guests can spike a ball on one of the beach volleyball courts or toss beanbags in friendly cornhole competitions in the sand.

Out on the water, there are seasonal water sports activities, including parasailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and chartered fishing, sailing, and sunset boating adventures. During the summer, the giant inflatable Seascape Water Park pops up in the turquoise waters of the Gulf for the kids and the young at heart.

Rest Your Head

With over 1,300 residential condominiums and ten properties to choose from, Seascape has plenty of options for rental guest stays. Condominium options include single, double, and triple bedrooms, perfect for anything from a couple’s getaway to a large family vacation.

Match Sports

The Seascape Destin Golf Course is within the resort and walking distance of the condos. The par 70, 6,100-yard championship course has 18 contoured fairways that wind through lakes and tall pines. The course offers a unique challenge to golfers of all skill levels, as 15 of the 18 holes boast impressive water features. If your vacation schedule is jam-packed, golfers can opt for nine holes instead of 18.

The Seascape Resort & Destin Tennis Club is consistently ranked as a five-star tennis resort in the United States. Chilean tennis professional Fernando Guarachi manages the award-winning tennis program that offers lessons, organized tournaments, and kids’ tennis nights with pizza or sub sandwiches. The six clay tennis courts are free to any owner, rental visitor, or personal guest when not scheduled for lessons.

Coastal Gourmand

Seascape is perhaps best known for the iconic Whale’s Tail Beach Bar and Grill. Situated right on the water, the Whale’s Tail is one of those restaurants of a bygone era before land use notions like setbacks became a thing. Nonetheless, this Gulf-front bar and restaurant is the quintessential beach hangout serving up seafood and sandwiches for hungry vacationers.

When celebrating a special occasion, look no further than the Ocean Club in nearby Miramar Beach. This white linen restaurant serves fresh seafood and the finest steaks in a lively and atmospheric venue. Check out the Ocean Club Happy Hour Menu for great food and craft cocktail deals.

The Seascape Towne Center is a popular destination for dining, with plenty of parking available:

Retail Therapy

While Seascape is a secluded resort in Northwest Florida, it is only minutes away from upscale retail on the Gulf Coast. The Grand Boulevard Shops are three miles East of the Seascape Resort. National retailers such as Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Anthropologie, and Lululemon anchor this mixed-use lifestyle center in Miramar Beach. With incredible shopping, dining, and entertainment, Grand Boulevard is a happening destination for retail therapy.

The Silver Sands Premium Outlets are half a mile from the Seascape Resort. Between its convenient location and the sheer options (110 plus stores and dining options), the Silver Sands outlets are a great place to pick up a bargain to complement your resort attire.

Unwind in Style

Make the most of your Seascape vacation by scheduling an appointment at the Surfside Spa. Located on the property, the spa has masseuses and estheticians on staff who are skilled at rejuvenating sore muscles and tired skin.

Fun for All Ages

Beyond banana boating in the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico and other beach pastimes, kids will have a blast at the Thrills Laser Tag and Arcade in the Seascape Towne Center. The arcade has over 50 games and 70 play stations that kids can rack up the points on to redeem fabulous prizes so they leave happy. The real star of the show, however, is the interactive “Temple of Doom” laser tag course. Be prepared for thrills that test your skills in this themed arena.

Seascape is a music-lover’s paradise. Topeka Music Vacations, based in nearby Miramar Beach, organizes music festivals during peak travel seasons. Festivalgoers can party on the beach from sunup to sundown, listening to groovy and soulful sets from an impressive line-up of artists.
