Honoring Visionary Design!
Marieanne Khoury-Vogt and Erik Vogt The Seaside Institute™ has announced that architects Marieanne Khoury-Vogt and Erik Vogt will receive the 2026 Seaside Prize™, one of the highest honors in architecture, urban planning, and community design.
The annual award, now in its 32nd year, celebrates individuals whose work has profoundly shaped the built environment.
Khoury-Vogt and Vogt, founders of Khoury & Vogt Architects (KVA), have spent more than two decades designing places that blend timeless tradition with inventive character. Their practice, now based in Alys Beach, is known for weaving classical composition with modern and vernacular influences, often drawing on the spirit of the tropics and Mediterranean. From private residences to town planning, their work strives to balance comfort, beauty, and community connection.
Over the years, the pair has earned wide recognition, including the Arthur Ross Award from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art in 2023 and the Barranco Award from the Urban Guild in 2024.
As Town Architects for Alys Beach, their vision has helped shape one of the Gulf Coast’s most admired communities.
The Seaside Prize celebration will take place February 6–8, 2026, culminating in an awards ceremony at The Chapel at Seaside. The weekend will include events and symposia focused on resiliency, sustainability, and legacy, honoring the impact that Khoury-Vogt and Vogt have had not just on individual buildings, but on the communities they help bring to life.
Founded in 1982, the Seaside Institute has long championed education, design, and sustainable community building. With its roots in the iconic town of Seaside, considered the birthplace of New Urbanism, the Institute continues to recognize leaders whose work inspires more livable, walkable, and resilient towns around the world.
