This May, Casey Tindell-Trejo and Colleen Duffley will fly to the Eastern Republic of the Congo to run seven marathons in seven days. The women, who both live in the 30A area, are taking the challenge to raise money for On the Ground’s Project Congo.
Tindell-Trejo sat down to talk with 30A Radio about the cause that inspired her — the organization raises funds for the inspiring female coffee farmers, farming families and cooperatives working toward gender equality in the region.
“I want my daughter to know that women can do anything,” she said.
Hear about how the local 25-year-old is preparing for the race, how Amavida Coffee & Tea, where she works, is supporting her efforts, and her family’s over 60-year history in Seagrove.
