The Pearl Hotel’s restaurant, Havana Beach Bar & Grill, will host “A Latin Affair” with Texas-based Chef Nelson Millan on Friday, September 11. This is the restaurant’s first collaboration with an out-of-state chef, and the night will include a multi-course Latin and Caribbean-inspired meal with expertly paired cocktails.
The evening commences with a cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m. on the Havana Beach terrace overlooking the shimmering Gulf of Mexico, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. with a trio of southern talent demonstrating inventive new takes on classic dishes, such as Lechon Asado with crispy pork belly and Chillo Frito with Gulf-caught snapper, served within the restaurant’s Cuban-inspired decor.
The stars of the evening include:
— Havana Beach Bar & Grill’s Executive Chef Matt Moore, who sources produce and seafood from within miles of the restaurant for his Latin/Portuguese/Spanish fusion menu
— San Antonio Country Club’s Executive Chef Nelson Millan, who specializes in Caribbean cuisine combined with French techniques to create dishes that exemplify his Puerto Rican roots
— UVaggio Wine Bar’s 5-star sommelier Heath Porter, hailing from the Miami area and providing the well-balanced cocktail pairings to heighten the meal’s distinct flavors
Dinner is $125 per person, and bookings are essential due to limited seating. Reservations may be made by calling 850-588-2882.
Guests may extend the experience to include a special two-night Latin Affair accommodation package featuring brunch and late check-out post-meal from the Forbes Travel Guide four-star Pearl Hotel.
