The Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles’ volunteer beach ambassadors will hit the beach again starting March 6, 2017.

Having enjoyed a successful test run of their new volunteer beach ambassador program in October 2016, they will be back at it this year between March 6 and October 31 at various regional beach accesses, around town and, of course, on the beach.

“We’re looking for anyone who wants to be a part of a positive force welcoming those visiting our beaches, has a willingness to answer questions and a desire to help educate people to leave the beach better than the way they found it,” said Laurie Reichenbach, committee chairperson of the program.

If you are interested in being a volunteer beach ambassador there is a mandatory training for the 2017 season that you will need to attend in order to receive your shirt. This training is being offered on March 1 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. and March 4 from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Walton County TDC Visitor Center.

To register, email the Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles. For more info, follow them on Facebook.
