Stinky’s Inaugural Beach to Bay Grand Slam Fishing Tournament Underway

Stinky’s Bait ShackFishingTournament_Letter_back Flyer_Sponsors_final 10 1 2014 will host their inaugural Beach to Bay Grand Slam Fishing Tournament from October 4 – November 15. This tournament is a great way for locals to take the beach and bay back and a perfect opportunity for visitors to enjoy the community spirit.

To win the grand prize, an individual angler must catch and score a red fish, speckled trout and a flounder. Sounds Like fun? The calcutta categories also include pompano and biggest individual fish scored of each species.

The launch party is an Oyster Festival on October 4 from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Stinky’s Fish Camp and Stinky’s Bait Shack. The festivities will have oysters prepared in various styles, an oyster shucking contest, cooking demonstrations, an oyster shell painting contest for the kids and adults and live music. The South Walton community and visitors are invited to the festival to help kick off the fishing tournament.

Tournament participants can register at the festival or pre-register online at Stinky’s Fish Camp. Registration forms and a copy of your fishing license must be received 24 hours prior to weighing in your first fish. Weigh-in begins at 8 am on October 5 and ends on November 15. Participants are required by law to abide Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC) fishing regulations.

“The Fishing Tournament and Oyster Festival is a way for Stinky’s to bring the community back together after a great summer season,” said Chef Jim Richard, of Stinky’s Fish Camp and Bait Shack.
