Alys Beach will hold its 2nd Annual Alys Beach 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday, September 1st, 2013.

Located along Scenic Highway 30A, Alys Beach is a popular location for family beach vacations and holiday getaways, and the 2013 Labor Day weekend will be packed with fun for the entire family.

The 5K course begins and ends at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre, and winds throughout the 158-acre resort town, offering spectacular views the town’s architecture, diverse natural habitat and stunning white sand beaches. The course incorporates the nature trail, which meanders through 22-acres of pristine wetlands on the north end of Alys Beach, as well as some of the town’s newer developments and the Gulf Green on the south side of 30A.

The 5K will start at 8:00am and the 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:30am. Space is limited to 375 participants in the 5K and 200 in the 1 Miler.

The event, which benefits the Seaside School Foundation, also features an oversized obstacle course for kids of all ages and will end with music, food, and beverages available in the Amphitheatre. The price to participate in the certified 5K is $35, and $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run (kids 12 and younger only, please).
