The popular Bloody Mary cocktail poured by the mixologist team at Bud & Alley’s Waterfront Restaurant in Seaside won two awards at the first annual Bloody Mary Festival on September 19 at The Market Shops in Miramar Beach.
Bud & Alley’s competed against 14 Northwest Florida-based restaurants and bars who all were asked to concoct a Bloody Mary with Cathead Vodka.
Bud & Alley’s rendition included the restaurant’s house-made signature Bloody Mary mix garnished with Cherrywood smoked bacon, spicy gulf shrimp, spicy pickled bean and a pickled okra. This spirited, savory cocktail earned the First Place Judge’s Award and Second Place for the People’s Choice Award.
“I’m so bloody proud of my GM, Kirk Williams, front of house manager, Grant Hill, and our incomparable bartender, Mo Moseley, for their good work in creating the winning Bloody Mary as we enter our 30th season in Seaside,” said Bud & Alley’s founder/owner Dave Rauschkolb. “We will happily carry this title until next year’s wonderful event.”
This inaugural charity event was attended by 500 people who in addition to sampling Bloody Mary’s also sipped on mimosas, craft beers and enjoyed light bites and live music. Proceeds will benefit Sinfonia Gulf Coast, which marks its 10th anniversary season in 2015-16.
