Recently, a small, local company was recognized in a big way when Coastal Road was included in FedEx’s new Big Box of Small Goods marketing campaign.
Christie Casillo’s handmade leather bags and accessories are fashioned through a unique process of digitally printing onto leather and then embossing it. One of her latest designs, the Zipper Clutch, was chosen from thousands of entrants to be included in the campaign.
The Coastal Road bags, along with special selections from six other artisans from across the country, were packaged into handmade wooden boxes and sent off to style and opinion makers in varying fields.

Casillo said she was especially excited about the box that went out to the publisher of American Edit, a website focused on finding the best American makers and brands. Check out their post on receiving their Big Box of Small Goods.
“We are beyond appreciative that FedEx would create such an amazing program and that our growing business is a part of its initial phase,” Casillo said.
“As we have recently launched ecommerce with www.coastalroad.net, the timing is even more perfect for helping increase our reach. We hope in shining a light on our locally made brand at a national level, we can share that gratitude with the other small businesses — shops, boutiques, publications — that have helped us grow.”
