Come experience the more intimate side of Emerald Coast Storytellers: face to face, pen to paper, fingers to keys.
No matter where you are on your own writing journey, this event is for you. We’ll be upstairs at Distillery 98 armed with our pens, journals, and laptops, and ready to talk shop and get to work on our works in progress––or something brand new! The evening will start with a brief introduction, followed by breakout time to focus on individual projects or explore an optional writing prompt. We’ll wrap up by coming back together to share, discuss, and inspire one another.
As always, the Distillery 98 tasting room will be open for anyone looking to add a little craft cocktail to their craft.
September’s Story Theme: Guilty Pleasures
We all have them—the songs we know every word to but would never admit, the comfort food we crave after a long day, the guilty binge-watch, the collection we’ve quietly amassed, or the quirky hobby that brings us more joy than we’d like to confess.
But guilty pleasures aren’t always lighthearted. Sometimes they’re the traditions we refuse to let go of, the childhood memories we revisit, the small rituals that keep us grounded, or the passions we’ve hidden because they didn’t fit someone else’s expectations.
This month, we’re celebrating the things we secretly (or proudly) love. Whether your story is hilarious, nostalgic, heartfelt, or unexpectedly profound, we invite you to share the guilty pleasure that has shaped your life, made you laugh, comforted you when you needed it most, or simply reminded you that joy doesn’t always need an explanation.
After all, every guilty pleasure has a story—and we can’t wait to hear yours.
