Local artist and Gulf Coast State College faculty member Ryan Hubbard will exhibit a collection of his works in an exhibition called ‘Precarity’ opening Friday, December 8.
“I wanted to capture the vastness of the big skies of the southwest, which gave me an expansive feeling. So, to do this, I began putting the figures on thin, tall pedestals. The work then started to develop a kind of precarious feeling. These two factors oriented my intention to create work that evokes moods of precarity, mystery, and wonder.”
Meet Ryan and view his works in person at the opening reception Friday, December 8 from 5-7pm. ‘Precarity’ will be on display through Saturday, January 6, 2024.
