The CAA is excited to offer a fun upcoming art workshop: Beginning Rug Hooking Classes with fiber artist Capri Boyle Jones at the Bayou Arts Center. The first three-class series is scheduled for September 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Follow-up classes take place on October 14 & 28.

Beginning Rug Hooking is a series of three classes in which students will learn the basics of rug hooking, including fundamental principles and concepts that allow each student to understand and create a hooked product. This class will practice pulling loops on a 12″ x 12″ pattern designed by the instructor, which encourages a variety of basic techniques. We will utilize a variety of wool and/or other fibers to achieve the essence of the design. Students will also learn about equipment and tools utilized for rug hooking.
