Highlighting approximately 100 of the top dining establishments in Florida, the annual Golden Spoon winners were carefully selected by the magazine’s editorial staff and featured in a 15-page special section in the magazine.
Fish Out of Water is the flagship restaurant of St. Joe Club and Resort and was among just five dining establishments in Northwest Florida to receive this prestigious accolade in 2014. (The others were Firefly in Panama City Beach, Vintij in Destin, and Global Grill and Restaurant Iron in Pensacola.)
Overlooking the shimmering Gulf of Mexico, Fish Out of Water spotlights regional cuisine and locally procured seafood, infusing dishes with Southern flavor. Signature items include the Georgia Stuffed Quail with Andouille stuffing, cornbread, and an orange port reduction; Roasted Black Grouper with parsnip puree, lobster-corn maque choux, and crispy leeks; and Duck Breast with spinach and brie risotto, enoki mushroom confit, and a pomegranate reduction.
Though it’s earned the coveted accolade for three consecutive years, this is the restaurant’s first Golden Spoon win with new Executive Head Chef Todd Rogers at the helm.
“Continuing an extensive history of award-winning dining, this honor proves that our approach to fresh, quality cuisine and great service still shines among some of the most esteemed palates across the state,” Rogers said.
