Volunteers Needed for South Walton Community Council’s Beach Clean-up on July 5th

clean-beach-960The South Walton Community Council is gearing up for this year’s post-July 4th beach clean-up. The service is part of their annual efforts to rid the beaches of debris resulting from fireworks, and to minimize the hazard it poses to fish and other wildlife along our beaches.

The 2014 beach clean-up is scheduled for July 5th at 7:00am.

Volunteers are needed to serve as beach access site coordinators and to help pass out water, bags and gloves, and to record how many bags were collected. Water, gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Following are the sites needing volunteer coordinators:

— Inlet Beach
— Rosemary Beach
— Seagrove Beach (Santa Clara beach access)
— Grayton Beach
— Dune Allen
— Miramar Beach
— Seaside
— Blue Mountain Beach

If you’re able to help, please contact Sharon Thompson at 850-622-1031.
