While Mark and Paige Schnell have become fixtures in the 30A community over the past decade, they’ve also risen to the top of their fields across the country. Mark is an architect and New Urbanism community planner who founded Schnell Urban Designs), while Paige’s interior design company, Tracery Interiors, has landed her jobs all across the country and in magazines such as Southern Living.
Years ago, the couple bought a historic home in Point Washington. They literally lifted that home from its foundation and moved it south across Highway 98 and into the beach community known as Seagrove. There they remodeled the home for themselves and have loved living in it. But, the couple recently decided to purchase a run-down old beach cottage just across the street and start another remodel project, updating the old and creating something new to live in and enjoy.
Their latest renovation project was chosen as Coastal Living‘s 2015 Beach Cottage. The magazine has created customized show houses for 18 years, but this is the first time they’ve chosen to feature a remodel. The final outcome is a 2,500-square-foot beach cottage that incorporates some of the historical elements of Seagrove, with updated designs and, of course, Mark and Paige’s personal touch.
Here’s a pre-renovation tour with Mark and Paige, shot just 3 months ago:
Now it’s time to take a look at the finished project:
