If you’ve ever dined with the friendly folks at Old Florida Fish House, then you know why it continues to be an absolute favorite of both locals in the know, and the hundreds of thousands of beach-loving tourists that converge upon the area each year.
Nestled along the shores of Eastern Lake in the heart of Seagrove Beach, Florida, this is a staple of 30A dining that continues to grow in popularity since its inception back in 2005. The family-owned establishment has a rustic look and décor that gives way to a casual, laid-back feel just as the name would suggest.
It’s old Florida at its best, with just enough elegance thrown in to make it the ideal place for a family dinner, a late-night jaunt to hear some live music, or the perfect social event or destination wedding reception.
The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor dining and serves both lunch and dinner; along with catering to a vibrant late-night bar crowd in season. They do it all, and they do it all great.
The fun atmosphere, beautiful views, and fish camp like appeal may get patrons in the door, but trust me, it’s the great food and attention to detail that keep them coming back. Old Florida Fish House’s menu offers a vast selection of fresh gulf seafood, delicious steaks, and homemade desserts that have become their calling card for those who seek out the best cuisine available. From lunch items such as their redfish, snapper, and grouper, to dinner delicacies like the Half Amish Hen, Tomahawk Pork Chop, and Double Colorado Lamb Chops they get it right, and you’ll walk out planning to return. There’s also a kid’s menu for the Old Florida fans, 10 and under, so take the whole family.
Oh, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the fabulous chef and staff at Old Florida Fish House also know a thing or two about sushi. Even to the degree of often being called out by many as having the best sushi on 30A. Don’t take my word for it though, get in there and try it for yourself. Personally, I’ve never had anything at all at Old Florida that wasn’t absolutely top-notch.
As for entertainment, Old Florida Fish House offers live music almost every night, featuring everyone from local 30A favorites including Will Thompson Band, and Forrest Williams Band (one of my personal favorites) to regular appearances from The Voice contestants, Emily Bass, and three chair turner, Team John Legend artist, Jared Herzog, along with many more. And, don’t forget, for those nights listening to the tunes and sipping on some drinks, Old Florida Fish House pride themselves on a wide selection of wines and specialty cocktails, along with your favorite drafts, and even a Sake selection.
They don’t require reservations, however, it’s a good idea during the busier tourism seasons, especially for dinner parties of four or more. You can also call once you arrive and put yourself on the list. Try it out, and tell them 30A sent you. Heck, you can even enjoy a 30A Beach Blonde Ale while you wait. After all, there’s always time to slow down and soak up the beauty when you’re dining along this piece of paradise.
