Aside from the countless picture-perfect sunsets and white sand beaches, I love how tight-knit the community is. It’s almost like going back in time before cell phones; you’re bound to run into your friends anywhere you go.
2. Three favorite local spots?
Growler Garage. Great view of the gulf, with endless craft beer on tap, local musical acts playing right on the patio, and Mitch and his crew are always as nice as could be.
The Bay. The north side’s gem. Such a chill vibe with fresh seafood, indoor and outdoor accommodations, and a fire pit where bare feet is the preferred dress code.
The Hub. Do you want to talk about a taste for all palates? Hit this place up. Everything from concerts to movies, the big game on the projector to the warm summer nights on the lawn. Cigars to drinks to bikes to bites to shopping, this tucked away 100-acre wood has got it all.
Thursday Night trivia at the Grayton Brewpub. Live hosted trivia with a vast variety of genres, categories, musical decades and a rocking good time. If you want to show off your IQ while having some amazing local beer, this is the spot!
I could rant endlessly with this question but if I had to choose one, the Grits à ya ya at Great Southern is a staple. A dish so nice they named it twice. If you haven’t had it, stop reading this article and go there right now. You’ll thank me later.
Living at the beach doesn’t allow you too much free time, but when it does I just love throwing it into 4-wheel drive and cruising through the sandy roads of the Point Washington State Forest. What a way to make yourself feel so secluded from all the hustle and bustle and really see the unique nature and beauty that our area has to offer. You’ll feel like you’re a million miles from nowhere.
