Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort contributed $20,000 to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast from funds raised during the 28th Annual Sandestin Triathlon last August, officials have announced.
“We appreciate Sandestin’s generosity and willingness to make a difference in the community,” said Roger Hall, president of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast, after he was presented with the check last week.

The partnership goes beyond the triathlon. In October, the resort raised $15,000 for breast cancer research at the Serve2Cure event held at the Sandestin Tennis Center.
Mark Hodgdon, Sandestin’s general manager, said the resort is thankful for the strong bond they have built with the hospital.
“We take pride in working with Sacred Heart to benefit others in need and doing what we can to make our community a better place,” he said.
The 29th Annual Sandestin Triathlon is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, and will lure more than 700 participants for a half-mile Gulf of Mexico swim, a 20-mile bike along the Emerald Coast and a four-mile run through Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
