Join ‘Say the Word’ Poetry on Wednesday, April 17th, for their monthly Poetry Open Mic at 7:00 pm at Buddha Lounge.

This month, they’re also featuring a musical intermission by popular local Singer-Songwriter, Erin Elyse Jefferys, of Elyse TheRose. Erin found her passion for music early in life, and has been writing and collaborating with fellow musicians ever since. While performing in the Cornerstone Music Festival, she became inspired to strike out on her own as a singer/songwriter.

She records and produces in her home studio and has completed three studio albums, The Truth Will Bring In Company, Recourse and The Beginning as the End. Elyse Therose has won local battles of the bands, performed on live TV and was featured in WSRE’s Studio Amped high-definition concert series. She has played alongside Gin Blossoms, Cracker, Cursive, Brooke Fraser, Drivin’ N Cryin’ and more. Recourse is currently available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, with The Beginning as the End soon to follow.

“Erin is an exceptionally talented young lady with a very promising musical career ahead of her. We are thrilled to have her perform at our open mic,” said founder Maria Schabla.

“Say the Word” is a collective group of poets and spoken word artists dedicated to creating a platform for poets and spoken word artists to perform, encouraging local writers to collaborate and network; and making poetry more viable in the community by hosting monthly open mic nights. The monthly open mic nights occur on the third Wednesday of every month at Buddha Lounge in Blue Mountain Beach, beginning at 7 pm.
