The Chapel at Seaside, one of the local community’s most generous institutions, has done it again. Many will recall The Chapel’s response to Hurricane Michael. Using $400,000 in funds derived from its wedding income and designated giving by generous donors, it provided much needed early-stage financial relief that inspired hope and enabled families.
More recently, The Chapel initiated a COVID-19 Commuity Response Fund to provide financial support to displaced workers of Seaside-based businesses.
The campaign, anchored by two $100,000 matches, one from the Robert Davis Family Foundation and one from the Chapel, was successful in raising over $300,000 and allowing them to support over 260 workers from 30 businesses.
The Chapel has been overwhelmed with gratitude, letters and notes from the business owners and the workers.
And now, with unemployment compensation processes overwhelmed and stimulus checks equal to about a week’s pay, the Chapel is called to continue this support and has committed to raising another $300,000.
With an anonymous matching gifts commitment of $50,000, the Chapel has committed another $100,000 in matching gifts. Since mid-March, these gracious and generous gifts have enabled the Chapel to provide $400,000 in financial support to workers and $70,000 to local nonprofits.
As the Chapel seeks the remaining $150,000 to provide even more financial support, it’s reaching out to the community for help.
By leveraging these matching gifts commitments, your donations can be tripled.
Your gift to COVID-19 Community Response Fund will help the Chapel continue working closely with the local community to provide financial support to laid off or furloughed workers of Seaside-based businesses. Donations can be made on the website. 100% of your giving will be deployed into the community. Checks can be mailed to: The Chapel at Seaside, P.O. Box 4936, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459
