The St. Joe Company recently announced the grand opening of its Watersound Trail. The 5-mile trail, which is open to the public, begins next to the Watersound Origins Village Commons and then winds through the timberland forest and connects with Gayle’s Trails in the Panama City Beach Conservation Park.
The Gayle’s Trail system currently has about 13 miles of paved trail open to the public. The city hopes it eventually will span 30 miles and the Watersound addition is another step towards that goal.

“The St. Joe Company is proud to build communities that promote healthy, active lifestyles,” said Jorge Gonzalez, Senior Vice President of Development for The St. Joe Company. “The trailhead is accessible in the Origins community and is open to all members of the public for walking, jogging or bicycling. The trail incorporates mile markers and educational signage and even has a rest area at the midpoint.”
