Photo credit: Shelly Swanger The highly anticipated Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K Race Weekend, presented by the Lauderdale Family of Frankie’s Bike Shop and hosted by Seaside, is back for its 23rd year. Scheduled for February 13-16, 2025, the event will take place in the charming town of Seaside, Florida, and registration is officially open.
This iconic race weekend is a celebration of both community and education, with all proceeds benefiting the Seaside School Foundation. The foundation supports the Seaside School, one of Florida’s oldest and top-performing public charter schools, as well as Seacoast Collegiate High School.
Since its inception, the event has become a crucial fundraiser for the Foundation, with 100% of the proceeds supporting educational initiatives that enrich the lives of local students.

“The Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K is a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts,” said Teresa Horton, Executive Director of the Seaside School Foundation. “This event not only raises much-needed funds, but it also brings together people from all walks of life who are passionate about education and community. It truly makes a lasting impact on the future of our students.”
Race weekend kicks off with the Taste of the Race, the official pre-party of the Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K, set for Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Seaside Lyceum in Seaside, FL. This culinary celebration will feature over a dozen top Gulf Coast chefs competing for awards, paired with fine wines, craft cocktails, and local brews. The evening will be headlined by the high-energy rock band The Velcro Pygmies and include a special performance by the Seaside Neighborhood School Performance Band. VIP tickets offer exclusive perks, including early entry, access to a live auction, and a VIP gift bag.
The excitement continues on Saturday, February 15th with the Race Expo from 12 PM to 4 PM at Seaside Neighborhoood School, where runners can pick up their race packets and explore offerings from event sponsors and vendors. Local runners can also pick up their packets early during the Locals Packet Pickup on Thursday, February 13th, from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Seacoast Collegiate High School.
The main event will take place on Sunday, February 16th, with the Half Marathon starting at 7:00 AM and the 5K at 7:30 AM. The race features a scenic out-and-back course along the stunning Scenic Highway 30A, offering breathtaking views of Coastal Dune Lakes and charming beach communities. The race is USATF certified and serves as a qualifier for the New York City and Chicago Marathons, making it a must-do event for serious runners.
After crossing the finish line, participants can relax and celebrate at the After-Race Party, featuring entertainment, local food, beverages, and an awards ceremony honoring the race’s top finishers.

The Seaside School Half Marathon has earned national recognition, including being ranked as the #4 Flattest Half Marathon in the U.S. by USA Today Sports and named one of the Best Seaside Road Races in the U.S. by OutsideOnline.com. With over 12,000 attendees annually, the event has become one of the largest and most beloved races along Scenic Highway 30A.
