Art lovers are invited to check out the biennial Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition (RBSE). Sixteen contemporary art sculptures are currently on display in an outdoor, walkable tour designed to enhance Rosemary Beach’s New Urbanism design. RBSE runs through February 14, 2020.
The exhibition is funded by private donations and Fractured Atlas, the country’s largest arts sponsor.
RBSE refrains from sticking to a theme to allow artists a large window of creativity.
Viewers are invited to take a free, self-guided smartphone audio tour through the app “Otocast,” which includes narrations from the artists themselves.
A printed map is also available from many of the Rosemary Beach merchants.
The exhibit also includes one additional sculpture with local ties to 30A. As part of the Washed Ashore program, students at the Ohana Institute in Seaside constructed “Invasive,” a lionfish sculpture made from plastic debris collected from the Gulf.
RBSE partnered with the Ohana Institute to raise awareness to the ever-growing problem of single-use plastics and its threat to oceans and marine life.
All the sculptures are available for sale at the closing of the show. Prices range from $1,100- $26,000. Viewers can also vote for their favorite sculpture for the People’s Choice Award. Rosemary Beach Homeowners Association will announce the winner in October.
So whether you’re an art connoisseur or just strolling through the streets Rosemary Beach, take a moment to stop appreciate this special installation.
