Want to let go of everything that’s bothering or stressing you? It can help to get back to the basics by ditching your clothes and feeling the warm sun on every inch of your skin. If you want to sunbathe in your birthday suit, though, you’ll need a place where you won’t be breaking laws or raising any eyebrows. This list of nude beaches around the world will help you pick the perfect spot.
Grab a frozen cocktail, and start planning your next getaway.
If you want to do a lot of walking or exploring in the buff, Wreck Beach is the ideal spot for it. It will give you plenty of ground to cover – this beach is more than four miles long. Located in Pacific Spirit Regional Park, it sits next to the campus of the University of British Columbia.
If you feel like going on a safari and visiting a nude beach during the same vacation, check out Mpenjati Beach. Located south of Durban, it is the only sanctioned South Africa nude beach. It’s small but gorgeous. Just beware there are rules, such as no staring or suggestive behavior.
3. Vera Playa, Costa Almeria, Spain
If you’re into the nude beach scene, you’ve probably heard of Vera Playa, Spain. You can play beach volleyball, get a drink and take in the hot, dry weather nearly year-round here. If you’re interested in swimming, pay attention to the colored flags that will let you know about the safety of the conditions.
4. Banana Beach, Skiathos, Greece
Before you decide to whip off all your clothes at Banana Beach, you need to realize there are two sections — Small Banana (sometimes called Little Banana) and Big Banana. Leave your clothes on at Big Banana, but feel free to ditch every stitch at Small Banana.
5. Grande Saline Beach, St. Barts
If you find unsanctioned nudity thrilling, Grande Saline Beach might be your speed. With the gorgeous turquoise waters of St. Barts, you’ll love the scenery. And you might get a kick from knowing your nudity isn’t strictly legal. The nudity at this beach is the result of authorities, ahem, looking the other way. And more good news, the powdery sand shouldn’t be too irritating to your skin.
Euronat, near Montalivet-les-Bains, offers a stunning beach, although it’s limited to just under a stretch of one mile. While the beach is top-notch, what makes this location stand out is the surrounding pine forest, and the Euronat naturist resort you can stay at that has non-stop nudity and all the amenities you can imagine.
This stunning beach in Croatia gives you about 2.5 miles of coastline. You’ll find a beach volleyball court, chairs, umbrellas, and plenty of pools too. You’ll have a lot to do with all the water activities, but plenty of quiet nooks to enjoy the scenery too.
8. Olho de Boi, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Looking for a nude beach that welcomes those identifying as LGBTQ? This nude beach in Brazil does, but you’ll want to stay for more reasons than that. The blue water is gorgeous, and with a little hiking, you can see some awe-inspiring scenery.
9. Orient Bay, St. Martin
St. Martin is renowned for its pristine beaches. With soft, powdery sand, beautiful blue water, and your choice of water sports, you won’t want to leave. Orient Bay is one of the best beaches on the island, and for those who want to get as close to nature as possible, it’s clothing optional.
10. Hawksbill Beach, Antigua
Looking for a less populated beach for your clothing-optional day in the sun? Hawksbill Beach is a hidden gem, with powdery sand and shallow water perfect for wading. It’s the only beach in Antigua that allows nudity.
Whether you intend to roam naked on a stunning beach, or you merely want the option of doing so on your next vacation, these beaches will welcome you either way. Any beach time, clothed or not, is capable of recharging your batteries and helping you face life’s challenges.
