Best Coffee Shops Around 30A For Your Caffeine Fix
Whether you need background noise, free WiFi, an espresso, or a break, these beverage purveyors are ready to pour.
Whether you need background noise, free WiFi, an espresso, or a break, these beverage purveyors are ready to pour.
Coffee shops offer more than caffeinated beverages. They’re third spaces where remote workers escape for a change of scenery, neighborhood gathering places, and buzzy hot spots where communities are formed. And, they don’t *just* serve coffee—tea blends, smoothies, decadent pastries, and refreshing acai bowls grace the menus of these cozy haunts around Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A. Whether you need background noise, some free wifi, the scent of espresso, or a respite from routine, these beverage purveyors are ready to pour.
If you drink coffee on 30A, you probably recognize the name Amavida. They roast for many of the shops on this list, but they have a couple of standalone locations where you can enjoy their signature Fair Trade, organic blends. And, you can feel good when you drink Amavida—they are certified Carbon-Neutral, Plastic-Neutral, and B-Corp, which basically means they give back as much as they take without shortcutting on quality.
They have two locations right off 30A (one in Seaside and one in Rosemary Beach) and both are sanctuaries for remote workers: lots of outlets, plenty of eclectic seating, buzzy atmosphere. They feature full coffee and espresso bar selections made by trained baristas, and if you aren’t sure what you want ask for a sample. They have a selection of pastries, as well as smoothies, loose leaf teas, and other beverages.
Both locations are open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. Amavida’s Rosemary Beach location also sells Official 30A Gear.
The Grayton Beach location has so many comfy seating options from the cushioned banquettes in the bakery area to the bar and couches in the bar room. It is busy. Always. Find your table first and then get in line to order. The baked goods are really, really tasty. Did I say really tasty? They are! Everything is fresh and when they run out, they are out.
The Grand Boulevard spot is the latest Black Bear. The cafe is smaller than the Grayton location, but there is ample seating outside, and they do have a banquet with about six tables inside.
They also have tasty Stumptown coffee, an assortment of pastries, and maybe the biggest rice krispy treats ever made.
It doesn’t stop at pastries though; I am kind of hooked on their french toast, but their croissants, pop tarts and grain bowls are no slouch either. The Grayton Beach spot has outlets everywhere—literally, every seat has an outlet, including the bar seats. It is a remote worker’s mecca. The Grand Boulevard spot is more a respite from some of the fantastic shopping available just steps from their door.
Both locations are open Tuesday – Sunday 7 am to 3 pm. Visit either Black Bear for a hot cup of coffee, or bigger than your hand chocolate croissants. And soon there will be a Seaside location to get those delicious baked goods and caffeine fixes.
Energized is the best descriptor for this hotspot at Gulf Place in Santa Rosa Beach. The interior is filled with driftwood adorned walls, local art, and beachy music. Business is brisk… always. They serve “Rise and Grind” coffee packaged by Amavida. Also offered are smoothies, cold brews, beer, wine, and cocktails. And that’s just the liquid options. There is a selection of Charlie’s Donuts, Keto Donuts, scones, cinnamon rolls, and a slew of breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
While you wait in line, peruse their selection of Register’s Honey, bottles of wine, Sunrise merch, and local art for sale. Comfy armchairs, industrial-crafted tables and chairs, and outdoor options make seating plentiful. And, if you are here to have a meeting or just knock out some remote work, outlets are abundant. Oh, and they have Dippin’ Dots for an old-fashioned ice cream fix, or just to cool off after biking Timpoochee Trail.
Visit Sunrise Coffee Co. seven days a week from 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.
If you miss “Cheers,” and want to go to a place where everybody knows your name, Kahve & Cream is the coffee shop.
They brew Lucky Goat Coffee, and the menu of cold brew, and espresso options is not small. Grab a growler to go, and get it refilled when the liquid nectar runs dry.
In addition to their tasty drinks, the menu boasts breakfast and lunch sandwiches, sweet crepes, Charlie’s Donuts (until they run out because they will), and locally-made Pecan Jack’s ice cream (banana pudding is the best). The seating is ample, five tables inside, a full bar with stools, and lots of spots outside. I am a sucker for a rich cup of coffee and a sweet treat—they delivered this in spades with a brimming cup of Black Gold and a red velvet cake donut.
Don’t miss this hidden gem tucked into a small strip of shops along 30A, open seven days a week, 7 a.m.- 9 p.m.
This Alys Beach staple serves cold-pressed juices, smoothies, as well as a full slate of coffee beverages. But it is much more than an organic, plant-heavy juice bar and cafe. Yes, there are lots of healthy options like acai bowls, but there are also mimosas and bloody marys.
Seating is plentiful. You may come for the health-conscious menu, but you will be drawn into the communal atmosphere replete with an outdoor fire pit, adjacent playground, and music in the courtyard Thursday through Sunday.
Breakfast and lunch menus feature vegan and vegetarian options, and the smoothie menu is staggering. Stop by Raw & Juicy seven days a week from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. to get energized and refreshed.
This flagship location in WaterColor’s Town Center is an happy homage to locally-sourced ingredients.
Beach Happy Cafe serves fresh sandwiches and wraps (to go orders and delivery can be ordered right on their website), baked goodies from Blue Mountain Bakery, 30A Coffee roasted by Amavida, delicious and healthy NaturBaker plant-based bakery options, 30A craft beer by Grayton Beer, 30A wine and much more.
Oh, and did I mention the ice cream? It’s handcrafted by G.S. Gelato in Fort Walton.
They serve breakfast all day alongside their menu of hot and cold brews. And if you need oat or macadamia nut milk, they have it, plus flavoring syrups for that extra sweet shot. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating, and if you need some 30A signature apparel made from recycled water bottles, they have a retail space inside with all the official 30A swag.
Be sure to stop by this location, grab a cup of coffee and pastry seven days a week from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. And stay tuned for more Beach Happy Cafes bringing the coastal vibes far beyond Scenic 30A.
