Vue on 30a Closes After More Than 50 Years on the Gulf

A familiar 30A gathering place has served its final meal.

Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club announced on September 14 that Vue on 30a has permanently closed, bringing to an end more than five decades of dining, celebrations, sunsets, and Gulf views at the longtime South Walton destination.

According to the Club, routine maintenance prompted a professional evaluation of the property, which identified water intrusion and related indoor air quality concerns in portions of the building. While the issues could be remediated, the work would require a significant investment and an extended timeline. Because the building was already expected to be replaced as part of the Club’s long-range master plan, the Board chose to close Vue permanently rather than undertake extensive repairs.

The property’s story stretches back to 1971, when the original Beach Club opened along the Gulf. Over the decades, the space evolved into Vue on 30a, known for its sweeping Gulf views, special-occasion dinners, and place in the memories of generations of locals and visitors.

For many along 30A, Vue was as much about the setting and the people gathered around the table as it was about the meal itself.

“Vue has been so much more than a restaurant. It has been part of the fabric of this Club and this community for generations,” said Steve O’Brien, President of the Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club Board of Directors. “We are incredibly grateful for everything Vue has meant to our members, our employees and the 30A community.”

Its closure marks the end of a long chapter on this stretch of South Walton coastline, and one that many in the community will remember fondly.
