After five years in business, owners Ann and George Hartley are pleased to announce that they’ve renovated George’s at Alys Beach, their casual dining spot on 30A.
The remodel includes a 1,000-foot kitchen expansion, 40 additional seats, new restrooms, a sophisticated dining room replacing the earlier bright colours with a neutral palette and a complete interior facelift, which will be unveiled when the restaurant reopens for the season the first week of March.
Ann and George’s prized frog collection will remain an integral part of the space. The couple has commissioned Atlanta-based artist Anne Lomax to build driftwood mirrors with pieces from the collection woven into the frame. The mirrors will become the focal point of the main dining room.
“With five great years under our belts, we decided it was the perfect time to give the restaurant a fluff,” says Ann Hartley. “Everything our guests have grown to love about George’s over the years – the people, the food, and the service – won’t change a bit. The design is polished and we hope it will make our guests’ dining experience even better.”
