SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. — The South Walton Fire District is holding its 2 nd Annual Heroes Against Hunger Food Drive ahead of Thanksgiving and is calling on the community
for help in the fight against hunger. Community members can donate nonperishable or canned food items to any of the five SWFD fire station locations through November 18. This food drive is not exclusive to residents of South Walton- anybody who is willing is invited to participate.
All food items collected will be donated to Food for Thought Outreach Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to fighting childhood hunger.
“We want our community to know we stand behind them no matter the cause,” said SWFD Fire Chief Ryan Crawford. “We are fortunate to live in an area with so many generous
individuals, so we invite you to step up, donate, and join us. You can even show support for your closest SWFD fire station, because the station with the most donations will be awarded a trophy at the end of the food drive.”
SWFD Fire Station locations are as follows:
Station 1: 117 N. Wall St, Inlet Beach
Station 2: 2109 S. Co. Highway 395, WaterColor
Station 3: 911 N. Co. Highway 393, Santa Rosa Beach
Station 4: 485 Mack Bayou Road, Mack Bayou
Station 5: 217 S. Geronimo Street, Miramar Beach
Last year, SWFD collected approximately 200 items during the drive and hopes to surpass that total in 2023.
